Quartetti, Ralph William 74, Born Chicago Illinois, Died Saturday August 29, 2009. He graduated from University of Illinois following three years of service with the US Army. Ralph and his family have been residents of St Petersburg since 1972, where he continued his passion for sailing. Ralph enjoyed local yacht racing and extensive cruising that carried him from upper Lake Michigan through parts of the Caribbean including two trips to Cuba and Isla Mujeres, Mexico. He is a past Commodore of the St. Petersburg Sailing Association and Dolphin Cruising Club. Ralph was a well respected local residential developer. His company Sun Ketch Construction was builder of the year in 2001 and he was twice president of the Pinellas County Contractors and Builders Association. Ralph also served as member of the Board of Directors for Raymond James and Associates for 10 years. Ralph's contribution to the community can be seen throughout surrounding counties, where he has built over 1400 homes. He has made significant contributions to his church, St. Raphael's Catholic Church guiding the church through various business affairs including construction of the new church. He also has taken part as spiritual advisor for baptismal instruction and R.C.I.A. In addition to his aforementioned accomplishments, Ralph always placed family first and took great pride with his wife of 51 years, Bernadine, in raising and mentoring their four children and eight grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Bernadine, brother Leonard (Marijane), his sons Michael (Mary Ann), Tom (Patti), and daughters, Nina (Steve Fuchs), Gia (Mike McCue) and eight loving grandchildren.Ralph was a man of great integrity, teacher of life who taught by example. His dedication to faith and family will be remembered by all that knew him.A visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2009 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Jr. St. N. with a funeral mass on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 11 AM at St. Raphael's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Raphael's Catholic Church.
