Prescott, Robert J.
54, of St. Petersburg, died along with his wife Katherine in a tragic boating accident at Lake Powell, AZ Saturday, April 25, 2009. He was born on June 8, 1954 in St. Petersburg, FL to James and Martha Prescott. He was a graduate of St. Petersburg High School and the University of South Florida. He retired from the St. Petersburg Police Department after 25 years of service. During his tenure on the police force he served as a patrolman, a Field Training Officer for graduates of the Police Academy and for the last 15 years he served with distinction as a detective in the burglary division. He is preceded in death by his brother, David Sain. Bob is survived by his parents, James and Martha; brothers, Daniel Prescott and Doug Prescott and sister in law Kathleen of Coca Beach, FL; sister, Ann Siviter and her husband Bill; step sons, Todd Hickman and his wife Kara of Lafayette, CO, and Scott Hickman and his wife Monica of Marietta, GA; step daughters, Caitlyn and Alyssa Clausen, and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Anderson-McQueen followed by a gathering of friends and family from 2:00-4:00pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Suncoast Police Benevolent Association Inc., 14141 46th St. N., Clearwater, FL 33762 or the charity of your choice.
